Spring has sprung! Here's what we're up to.
Tomorrow morning (Saturday September 9) Mishka and Rachel will be manning our first test-run Suspension stall at Kings Cross Market, from 9am to 2pm. We won't be selling coffees this time, the focus will be on showcasing a selection of our retail beans and FREE ESPRESSO TASTINGS.
An espresso made by Mishka is by far the best way to experience our coffee. Can't think of a better start to a Saturday, tbh. If you can make it down, please come find us and say hello.
The lovely folks at noissue (manufacturers of sustainable packaging and printers of our striking new take-away cup stickers) featured us on their blog, The Wrap. If you have an interest in packaging, branding, and good design, it's well worth a click around.
Some sad news for Islington: Pino's Italian is closing down, and Newcastle is losing a unique restaurant with beautiful options for omnivores and vegans alike. We wish Dion and crew all the best for the future. Of course, this abrupt closure also affects our Newcastle-based customers, as Pino's has been a solid partner over the past year: pouring Suspension espresso, selling our retail beans, and acting as a local pickup location for online orders.
After this week, Suspension will temporarily be without a pickup location in Newcastle. We're in talks with a few local friends and should be able to rectify this shortly. We'll keep you posted! (UPDATE: Our new Islington pickup location is Vego's!)

Suspension in the news! Last month the Newcastle Herald published a lengthy feature on Mishka and Suspension, focusing on the history of the old cafe, our approach to life and coffee, and the future of our iconic roastery.
